Product Background

Gene summary
FGF6 (Fibroblast Growth Factor 6) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with FGF6 include apert syndrome and breast cancer. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and Immune System. GO annotations related to this gene include growth factor activity and fibroblast growth factor receptor binding. An important paralog of this gene is FGF22. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This gene displayed oncogenic transforming activity when transfected into mammalian cells. The mouse homolog of this gene exhibits a restricted expression profile predominantly in the myogenic lineage, which suggested a role in muscle regeneration or differentiation.
Antigen Description
FGF-6 is a member of the FGF family of heparin-binding mitogenic peptides. Mature FGF-6 is a 168 amino acid peptide with a predicted molecular mass of approximately 19 kDa. Amino terminal sequencing analysis revealed at least 2 N termini, the non-truncated as well as a truncated form that lacks the first 30 amino acid residues. Plays an important role in the regulation of cell proliferation, cell differentiation, angiogenesis and myogenesis, and is required for normal muscle regeneration. Fibroblast growth factor 6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FGF6 gene. 0The function about FGF6 antigen include fibroblast growth factor receptor binding; growth factor activity.
Activated point mutants of FGFR2; Adaptive Immune System; Constitutive PI3K/AKT Signaling in Cancer; DAP12 interactions; DAP12 signaling; Disease; Downstream signal transduction; Downstream signaling events of B Cell Receptor (BCR).
