General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-02195) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human FAH, targeting the amino acid region 236–408 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with FAH from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase (FAH; EC 3.7.1.2), also known as fumarylacetoacetase, is a dimeric enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolytic cleavage of fumarylacetoacetate into fumarate and acetoacetate, representing the final step in the tyrosine catabolic pathway. Encoded by the FAH gene located on chromosome 15q25.1, it is predominantly expressed in the liver and kidneys, where it facilitates the degradation of tyrosine and phenylalanine-derived metabolites into intermediates that enter the citric acid cycle and ketogenesis. Deficiency in FAH activity leads to hereditary tyrosinemia type I (TYRSN1), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by the toxic accumulation of upstream metabolites such as succinylacetone, causing severe liver and kidney dysfunction.
DPABH-02195 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:20,000–1:80,000), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:2,000), IHC (1:100–1:500) applications.
DPABH-02195 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS, pH 7.4 with 0.02% Sodium Azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
