General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-07436) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human EDN1, targeting the amino acid region 18–212 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is a potent 21-amino acid vasoconstrictor peptide primarily synthesized by vascular endothelial cells, vascular smooth muscle cells, and other tissues such as the renal medulla and macrophages. Discovered in 1988 by Masashi Yanagisawa and colleagues at the University of Tsukuba, Japan, through purification from porcine aortic endothelial cell supernatants, ET-1 represents the first identified endothelium-derived vasoconstricting factor and has since been recognized as a key regulator of vascular homeostasis. Its structure features two disulfide bonds between cysteine residues, contributing to its stability and biological activity, with a plasma half-life of less than 5 minutes in humans.
DPABH-07436 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-07436 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
