General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-21085) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CLRN2, targeting the amino acid region 149–232 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human CLRN2 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CLRN2 (Clarin 2) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a tetraspan membrane protein belonging to the clarin family, which is involved in sensory cell function, particularly in the inner ear. CLRN2 is primarily expressed in the cochlea and is thought to play an important role in the development and maintenance of hair cells, which are essential for mechanotransduction and hearing. It is localized to cellular membranes and is believed to contribute to the organization or stability of stereocilia or associated membrane structures in sensory epithelial cells. Genetic studies have linked variants in CLRN2 to autosomal recessive hearing loss, indicating its importance in auditory function. Although its precise molecular mechanisms are still being investigated, CLRN2 is considered a key component in the proper functioning and structural integrity of cochlear hair cells. DPABH-21085 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:200–1:1,000) application. DPABH-21085 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
