This product (Catalog No. DPABH-00339) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CD36, targeting the amino acid region 187–428 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human CD36 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CD36, also known as scavenger receptor class B member 2 (SR-B2), is an 88 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein that functions as a class B scavenger receptor, primarily facilitating the high-affinity uptake of long-chain fatty acids (LCFAs) and oxidized lipids across the plasma membrane in various cell types. First identified in 1977 as glycoprotein IV on platelets, CD36 plays a critical role in lipid homeostasis by enabling efficient fatty acid transport and utilization, particularly in energy-demanding tissues like the heart and skeletal muscle.
DPABH-00339 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-00339 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
