General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-20787) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CARNS1, targeting the amino acid region 443–827 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human CARNS1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Carnosine synthase 1 (CARNS1) is an enzyme encoded by the human CARNS1 gene that catalyzes the ATP-dependent formation of the dipeptides carnosine (β-alanyl-L-histidine) and homocarnosine (γ-aminobutyryl-L-histidine). Carnosine is primarily synthesized in skeletal muscle, where it serves as an antioxidant, pH buffer, and metal chelator, while homocarnosine predominates in the central nervous system. The enzyme exhibits higher efficiency for carnosine production using β-alanine and L-histidine as substrates, producing ADP and inorganic phosphate as byproducts, though it shows broader but less specific activity toward other amino acid acceptors.
DPABH-20787 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:5,000), IHC (1:400–1:1,600) applications.
DPABH-20787 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
