This product (Catalog No. DPABH-15428) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CAPN5. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with CAPN5 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Calpains are calcium-dependent cysteine proteases involved in signal transduction in a variety of cellular processes. A functional calpain protein consists of an invariant small subunit and 1 of a family of large subunits. CAPN5 is one of the large subunits. Unlike some of the calpains, CAPN5 and CAPN6 lack a calmodulin-like domain IV. Because of the significant similarity to Caenorhabditis elegans sex determination gene tra-3, CAPN5 is also called as HTRA3. DPABH-15428 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:200–1:1,000), IHC (1:40–1:200) applications. DPABH-15428 is supplied as a liquid formulation in pH7.4 PBS, 0.05% sodium azide, 40% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
