General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-21103) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MICOS13, targeting the amino acid region 1–118 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human MICOS13 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. C19orf70, officially known as MICOS13, is a protein-coding gene located on the short arm of human chromosome 19 at position 19p13.3 that encodes a 118-amino acid protein subunit of the mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system (MICOS) complex, which is essential for the assembly, stability, and maintenance of crista junctions in the inner mitochondrial membrane. The protein, also referred to as QIL1 or MIC13, contains a conserved transmembrane helix and localizes specifically to mitochondrial cristae junctions, where it interacts with other MICOS subunits such as MIC10 (MINOS1) and MIC60 (IMMT) to regulate mitochondrial architecture and respiration. The MICOS complex, of which MICOS13 is a critical component, forms a large ~700-kDa structure in the inner mitochondrial membrane across metazoans, including orthologs in species like Drosophila. Depletion or dysfunction of MICOS13 disrupts cristae morphology, leading to loss of junction integrity, formation of abnormal concentric ring-like membrane structures, and impaired oxidative phosphorylation, which underscores its role in mitochondrial bioenergetics and cellular health.
DPABH-21103 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:500) applications.
DPABH-21103 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
