The hybridoma was generated by fusion of splenocytes from a BALB/c mouse that had been immunized with big brown bat splenocytes. The resulting hybridomas were plated in methylcellulose and subsequently subcloned in liquid culture. The hybridoma produces a mouse anti-bat Ig Light chain monoclonal antibody. It can bind to B cells and serum immunoglobulin by virtue of specificity for Ig Light Chain. It has no reactivity against Ig from megachiroptera
