This product (Catalog No. DPABH-18406) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human BCAS2, targeting the amino acid region 1–225 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. BCAS2, also known as breast carcinoma amplified sequence 2, is a protein-coding gene in humans located on the short arm of chromosome 1 at position 1p13.2, encoding the pre-mRNA-splicing factor SPF27, a 225-amino acid protein essential for mRNA processing. This protein serves as a key component of the PRP19-CDC5L complex within the spliceosome, facilitating the U2-type catalytic step 2 of pre-mRNA splicing and contributing to the assembly of the DNA replication factor A complex and centrosome structures. Originally identified through differential display analysis in breast cancer cell lines, where it exhibits amplification—particularly in lines like BT-20 and MCF-7—BCAS2 is ubiquitously expressed across normal tissues, with highest levels in bone marrow and brain.
DPABH-18406 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-18406 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
