General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-08186) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human AZIN1, targeting the amino acid region 5–290 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human AZIN1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. AZIN1 is a protein-coding gene located on the long arm of human chromosome 8 at position 8q22.3, encoding the protein antizyme inhibitor 1 (AZIN1), a key regulator of polyamine homeostasis that influences cell growth, proliferation, and various physiological processes. The AZIN1 protein is a homolog of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) but lacks enzymatic decarboxylase activity; instead, it binds to antizymes with high affinity, sequestering them and preventing their degradation of ODC, thereby promoting polyamine biosynthesis and uptake essential for cellular functions such as DNA replication and protein synthesis. Multiple isoforms of AZIN1 exist, with the longest isoform ubiquitously expressed and localized to both the nucleus and cytoplasm, while shorter variants, such as isoform 2, exhibit tissue-specific roles, including the reduction of fibrogenesis in hepatic stellate cells through polyamine-independent mechanisms.
DPABH-08186 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-08186 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
