General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-15999) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human AQP4, targeting the amino acid region 10–110 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with AQP4 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This gene encodes a member of the aquaporin family of intrinsic membrane proteins that function as water-selective channels in the plasma membranes of many cells. This protein is the predominant aquaporin found in brain and has an important role in brain water homeostasis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. Additional isoforms, resulting from the use of alternative in-frame translation initiation codons, have also been described. Recent studies provided evidence for translational readthrough in this gene, and expression of C-terminally extended isoforms via the use of an alternative in-frame translation termination codon. DPABH-15999 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application. DPABH-15999 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
