This product (Catalog No. DPABH-16608) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human ANK1, targeting the amino acid region 1–155 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human ANK1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Ankyrin-1 (ANK1) is also named as Ankyrin-R and Erythrocyte ankyrin. The stability and shape of the erythrocyte membrane is provided by the ankyrin-1 complex (PMID:18440852). ANK1 can attache integral membrane proteins to cytoskeletal elements. And it binds to the erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.2, to Na-K ATPase, to the lymphocyte membrane protein GP85, and to the cytoskeletal proteins fodrin, tubulin, vimentin and desmin.(PMID:12456646). This target recognizes the C-terminal of Ankyrin-1 and also recognizes ankyrin-1 isoform 5 (206 kDa). It can identify isoforms such as Er5, Er6, Er11, Er12, Er13, Er14, Er16, Mu17, Mu18, Mu19, Mu20, 22, and 23.
DPABH-16608 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000), IHC (1:250–1:1,000) applications.
DPABH-16608 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
