General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-26508) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human AKAP14, targeting the amino acid region 1–197 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. AKAP14 (A-Kinase Anchoring Protein 14) is a member of the AKAP family of scaffold proteins that localize protein kinase A (PKA) to specific subcellular compartments. By anchoring PKA near its substrates, AKAP14 enables spatial and temporal precision in cyclic AMP (cAMP)-dependent signaling pathways. It is primarily expressed in ciliated tissues, particularly in sperm flagella and respiratory cilia, where it is thought to regulate motility-related signaling processes. AKAP14 may interact with components of the axonemal structure and contribute to the coordination of ciliary beating through localized phosphorylation events. Although its precise molecular partners and regulatory mechanisms are still being investigated, AKAP14 is considered important for proper ciliary function and sperm motility, and disruptions in AKAP-mediated signaling are often associated with defects in cellular motility and related physiological processes.
DPABH-26508 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:1,000), IHC (1:20–1:200) applications.
DPABH-26508 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
