Transmission-blocking vaccines (TBVs) interrupt the malaria parasite life cycle within the mosquito vector by targeting sexual-stage and mosquito-stage antigens, and they are an essential component of malaria elimination research. The leading TBV targets are the pre-fertilization antigens Pfs230 and Pfs48/45, expressed on the surface of gametocytes and gametes, and the post-fertilization antigen Pfs25, expressed on zygotes and ookinetes. Clinical-stage candidates such as Pfs230D1M-EPA/AS01 and Pfs25M-EPA/AS01 have established these antigens as the most advanced TBV targets in development.
This portfolio provides the raw materials required to build, characterize, and quality-control TBV and CSP-based vaccine research programs: recombinant P. falciparum Pfs230D1, Pfs48/45, and Pfs25 antigens; full-length, truncated, and mosaic circumsporozoite protein (CSP) constructs; and a matched antibody panel including human, mouse, and rabbit monoclonal antibodies against CSP (CIS43 variants), P. vivax CSP (clone 2F2 and C483V), and polyclonal antibodies against the NANP and NVDP repeat regions. Sourcing antigens and matched antibodies from a single supplier streamlines assay development, comparability studies, and technology transfer for vaccine research and process development teams.
Pfs230 is a 230 kDa gametocyte surface protein that forms a stable complex with Pfs48/45 and is essential for male gamete fertility. Antibodies against the Pfs230 domain 1 (Pfs230D1) have demonstrated strong transmission-reducing activity in standard membrane feeding assays (SMFA), and Pfs230D1-based conjugate vaccines are among the leading TBV candidates in clinical evaluation. Pfs48/45 is another pre-fertilization target; antibodies against Pfs48/45 block parasite development in the mosquito midgut and the protein is a component of multi-antigen TBV strategies.
Pfs25, expressed only after fertilization in the mosquito midgut, has shown strong immunogenicity with limited antigenic polymorphism, making it a robust post-fertilization TBV target. CSP, the dominant sporozoite surface protein, is the antigenic basis of the licensed RTS,S/AS01 and R21/Matrix-M vaccines; its central NANP/NVDP repeat region and C-terminal domain are key targets of neutralizing antibodies, including the well-characterized human monoclonal antibody CIS43.

Recombinant Pfs230D1, Pfs48/45, and Pfs25 serve as starting materials for antigen engineering, carrier conjugation studies, and adjuvant formulation screening in TBV research programs.
The matched antibody panel provides positive controls and reference reagents for standard and direct membrane feeding assays, supporting transmission-reducing activity evaluation of vaccine-induced antibodies in research settings.
Well-characterized antigen-antibody pairs support the development of quantitative binding assays (ELISA, BLI, SPR) used in antigen characterization and comparability studies during process research.
Domain-resolved CSP reagents (NANP/NVDP repeat antibodies, C-terminal constructs, mosaic protein) support epitope-specific immune response profiling in research samples.
