Application Notes
Suitable for use in Control, ELISA.
Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DMAB-CBXY26006) is a human-derived monoclonal antibody raised against s. typhi S. typhi O antigen. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. The O antigen of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi (S. typhi) is the somatic antigen located on the outer membrane as part of the bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) structure. It consists of repeating oligosaccharide units that extend outward from the cell surface and are highly immunogenic. In S. Typhi, the O antigen belongs mainly to the O9 serogroup, which is an important determinant used in serological classification of Salmonella. During infection, the O antigen stimulates the host immune system to produce specific antibodies, particularly early IgM responses, which are commonly detected in diagnostic assays such as the Widal test. Because it is surface-exposed and relatively heat-stable, the O antigen plays a significant role in bacterial identification, serotyping, and immune recognition.
