This antibody serves as an excellent positive control for Rituximab immunogenicity (ADA) assays. Rituximab (Rituxan) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of hematological cancers and autoimmune diseases. When Rituximab binds to CD20 on the surface of normal and malignant B cells, natural killer (NK) cells is activated to destroy these B cells. It is therefore used to treat diseases with too many B cells, overactive B cells, or dysfunctional B cells.
