Antigen Description
Mycoplasma pneumoniae is an "atypical" bacterium (the singular form of bacteria) that commonly causes infections of the respiratory system. It is in thebacteria class Mollicutes. M. pneumoniae is characterized by the absence of a peptidoglycan cell wall and resulting resistance to many antibacterial agents.
