FlowScape™ Lung Chip, DXLC01

The lung chip contains hollow side chambers that allow vacuum to be applied to the device, thereby generating cyclic mechanical strain that mimics normal human breathing motions. A porous membrane separates the human alveolar epithelial cells in the upper channel from the human vascular endothelial cells in the lower channel, enabling the exchange of molecular signals between the two cell layers.
