Animals were immunized with calpastatin isolated from human erythrocytes. The antibody is specific for human calpastatin. It reacts with a single protein in Western blots of A-431 cells corresponding to purified 130 kDa myocardial calpastatin. Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 mouse myeloma cells. The antibody can be used for immunochemical and Western blot applications. It is a useful tool for detecting calpastatin.
