General Description

The Plasmodium Lactate Dehydrogenase (pLDH) ELISA Kit is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the detection of malarial antigen Plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH), a glycolytic enzyme present in all five species of human malarial parasites. Since pLDH is only secreted by live parasites, levels of this antigen in blood closely reflect the degree of parasitaemia and such, have been found to be a useful indicator of active malaria infection.
