Vector-Borne Disease Recombinant Proteins

Creative Diagnostics has developed a series of recombinant antigens for diagnosis of vector-borne diseases, including Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV), Rift valley fever virus (RVFV), Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV), and Orientia tsutsugamushi. Creative Diagnostic's range of high-quality recombinant proteins of vector-borne virus and bacteria are the main target proteins for neutralizing antibodies which can assist your research in vector-borne diseases. These antigens have been validated in multiple applications, including WB, ELISA, and LFIA.

Background

In recent years, the prevalence of vector-borne diseases has expanded considerably, due to climate change, urbanization, and global trade. Mosquitoes, ticks, sandflies and biting midges are common biting arthropods that transmit disease. Vector-borne diseases account for more than 17% of all infectious diseases, causing more than 700 000 deaths annually. They can cause systemic febrile illness, hemorrhagic fever and invasive neurological disease in a range of vertebrate hosts, including humans, livestock, and wildlife. They place a heavier burden on public health agencies and therefore need to ensure timely recognition and treatment of pathogenic infections. The diagnosis of vector-borne pathogen infections based on the patient's clinical symptoms and laboratory diagnosis. Serologies are the standard means of diagnosis in the laboratory. Serology test requires confirmation by detection of seroconversion or a rise in virus-specific IgM or IgG antibody titers from acute- and convalescent-phase sera.
