Matched Antigen Pair for SARS-CoV-2 Serology Test Development

Creative Diagnostics now can provide matched antigen pairs of SARS-CoV-2 Spike/RBD which were expressed in HEK293 cells. Antigens are post-translationally modified (glycosylation and phosphorylation) and more closely resembling the native viral proteins that can overcome specificity issues in COVID-19 serology assays.

These antigens can be used for total antibodies detection to SARS-CoV-2 virus in double-antigen sandwich immunoassay. Our antigens are manufactured to the highest quality standards and are performance guaranteed for the applications listed on the detailed datasheets.

Why We Need Antibody Tests for COVID-19

Detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA has become the standard for COVID-19 diagnosis. However, a number of false negative results have been reported, resulting in a failure to isolate infected patients. If unchecked, this could cause a major setback in containing viral transmission.

Titers of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies can reflect the progress of viral infection. SARS-CoV-2 specific antibody was tested in convalescent patients. IgG was positive in all patients, and a small part of them were negative for IgM. The titer of IgG was higher than that of IgM. Both IgM and IgG titers in convalescent patients showed a decrease trend. In these patients, the chest computed tomography findings indicated improvement. Antibody titers and consistent clinical manifestations suggested that antibody detection could act as an indicator of the stage of COVID-19 progression.
