General Notes

This product (Catalog No. DMAB-CPT1109) is a rabbit-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human TMEM119. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TMEM119 (transmembrane protein 119) is a type I transmembrane protein that is highly and specifically expressed in microglia within the central nervous system. It is widely used as a microglia-specific marker, as its expression distinguishes resident microglia from infiltrating peripheral macrophages under both homeostatic and pathological conditions. TMEM119 is localized to the plasma membrane and intracellular vesicles, and although its precise molecular function is not fully defined, it is thought to be involved in microglial maturation and maintenance of microglial identity. Because of its cell-type specificity, TMEM119 has become an important tool and target in studies of neuroinflammation, neurodegenerative diseases, and brain immune homeostasis.
DMAB-CPT1109 is suitable for use in Cytometric Bead Array (0.625-40 ng/mL) application.
DMAB-CPT1109 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS only. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
