This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1349W) is a humanized-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human sST2. Suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (ST2) refers to a protein encoded by the human IL1RL1 gene, a member of the interleukin-1 receptor family located on chromosome 2q12.1. Originally identified in 1989 as a gene expressed in growth-stimulated murine BALB/c 3T3 fibroblasts, it was named for observations that its transfection into a fibrosarcoma cell line suppressed tumor formation in nude mice, though later studies clarified this as a misnomer derived from an unrelated chromosomal locus. The ST2 protein exists in two main isoforms: a transmembrane form that functions as the specific receptor for the alarmin cytokine interleukin-33 (IL-33) and a soluble form (sST2) that acts as a decoy receptor to dampen IL-33 signaling. Through its association with the accessory protein IL1RAP, transmembrane ST2 activates downstream pathways including MAP kinases (ERK1/2, p38, JNK) but not NF-κB, promoting type 2 immune responses while inhibiting proinflammatory signaling from other IL-1 family members and Toll-like receptors.
CABT-L1349W is suitable for use in LFIA(Det), CLIA(Det) applications.
CABT-L1349W is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
