Glu-Glu (EE-tag) Overview

Introduction to Glu-Glu (EE-tag)

The Glu-Glu tag is also called EE-tag, a 314 to 319 amino acids fragment and consists of the peptide sequence, which is derived from the polyoma virus medium T antigen. Glu-Glu epitope tag is widely used as an epitope tag.

Glu-Glu tag is often used as a protein modification in order to simplify the labeling and detection of proteins. This unique amino acid sequence allows for specific antibody detection in western blotting and other immunostaining techniques. Due to the short sequence, this modification is not likely to affect the structure or function of the modified proteins. This antibody clone is capable of recognizing both EYMPME and EFMPME sequences.

Functions of Glu-Glu tag

As an epitope tag, Glu-Glu tag can be used in various routine experiments, such as western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, and flow cytometry. To detect newly discovered proteins, epitope-tagged antibodies are undoubtedly a cost-effective way when specific antibodies have not yet been developed or their immunogenicity is low.

Glu-Glu tag antibodies

Glu-Glu tag antibody detects transfected proteins containing the Glu-Glu epitope tag. The antibody recognizes the Glu-Glu tag fused to either the amino- or carboxy-termini of targeted proteins in transfected mammalian cells. As the world's leading supplier of antibodies, Creative Diagnostics provides kinds of epitope tag antibodies. The epitope tag antibodies are validated in immunoprecipitation, western blotting and immunocytochemistry.
