Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, is a water-soluble vitamin that is part of the B vitamin family. It is crucial for breaking down food components, absorbing other nutrients, and maintaining tissues.

Major sources of Vitamin B2 includes:

The chemical structure of Riboflavin

Riboflavin is required for the proper development of many things in the body including the skin, lining of the digestive tract, blood cells, and brain function. Vitamin B2 deficiency is a significant risk when diet is poor, because the human body excretes the vitamin continuously, so it is not stored. A person who has a B2 deficiency normally lacks other vitamins too.
