For some small molecules, it is very difficult to get specific antibody by the traditional antibody production technology. Creative Diagnostics is proud to offer custom rabbit monoclonal antibodies against small molecule haptens. Our state-of-the-art monoclonal antibody screening platform can significantly shorten the screening process and yield high-affinity monoclonal antibodies with broad diversity. CD has successfully developed rabbit monoclonal antibodies using antigen specific B cell cloning technologies. After detection and isolation of antigen specific memory B cells, the antibody variable regions (VH and VL) from single or clonal B cells are cloned and sequenced. Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced, purified, and tested for various applications, such as ELISA, Lateral Flow Immunoassay and CLIA.
Typically, rabbit monoclonal antibodies have 10 – 100 times higher affinity than mouse monoclonal antibodies. On average, the KD values of rabbit monoclonal antibodies range from 10-10 up to 10-12M.
The high specificity of rabbit monoclonal antibodies against small molecules can significantly improve the assay sensitivity and specificity in food safety immunoassay development.
Partially due to the expression of all three subclasses of CD1 proteins, the nonpeptidic epitope presenting in rabbits is more efficient, rabbit can generate a more vigorous immune response against various small molecule than mice. As a result, rabbits are widely adopted as preferable hosts to generate better antibodies to small molecules and haptens, including vitamins, mycotoxins, drug residues and other chemical contaminants.
