General Description

Diclazuril, a triazine acetonitrile compound, is a non-polyether synthetic anti-coccidial drug that was developed by Janssen in the 1980s. It is a highly efficient, low toxic, and broad-spectrum anti-coccidiosis drug. Diclazuril effectively reduces economic losses from coccidiosis in the poultry industry and is widely used in animal breeding to prevent and manage coccidiosis. Despite these benefits, diclazuril and similar drugs may leave residues in some animal-derived foods, which can cause problems in terms of food safety (1, 2).
