Application Notes

This antibody cross-links acetylcholine receptors on the muscle surface and promotes their degradation; incubation of AChR-expressing cell lines with mAb198 results in a reduction in AChR.
This antibody is specific for the main immunogenic region of human acetylcholine receptor, which encompasses residues 67–76 of the extracellular region of the acetylcholine receptor α subunit. It cross-reacts with acetylcholine receptors from mammalian muscle, including bovine muscle, and from the electric organs of Torpedo rays and Electrophorus electric eels.
Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application.
Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
