General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL2999) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PRDM13, targeting the amino acid region 518–707 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PRDM13 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. PRDM13 (PR/SET Domain 13) is a transcriptional regulator belonging to the PRDM (PRDI-BF1 and RIZ homology domain-containing) family of proteins, which are key epigenetic modulators involved in cell fate determination and developmental gene regulation. It contains an N-terminal PR/SET domain, which is often associated with histone methyltransferase activity or recruitment of chromatin-modifying complexes, along with zinc finger domains that mediate DNA binding and target specificity. PRDM13 functions primarily as a transcriptional repressor and plays a critical role in neurodevelopment, particularly in the specification and patterning of neuronal subtypes in the retina and hindbrain. It regulates gene expression programs that control neuronal differentiation and connectivity, often acting within complex transcriptional networks that define regional identity in the developing nervous system. Genetic and functional studies have linked PRDM13 to developmental disorders affecting vision and brain structure, and dysregulation of its activity may contribute to neurodevelopmental disease phenotypes.
CABT-BL2999 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:6,000), IHC (1:500–1:2,000) applications.
CABT-BL2999 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
