General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL5080) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human LUM, targeting the amino acid region 19–338 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human LUM from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Lumican is a small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) belonging to class II of the SLRP family, characterized by its role as a key regulator of extracellular matrix (ECM) organization, particularly through interactions with collagen fibrils to control their diameter, spacing, and assembly in connective tissues such as the cornea, skin, bone, and tendons. It exists primarily as a keratan sulfate (KS) proteoglycan in tissues like the corneal stroma, where its glycosaminoglycan chains contribute to transparency and mechanical stability, while in other sites like adult cartilage, it often appears as an unglycosylated glycoprotein. The protein's core structure features a horseshoe-shaped superhelix with 10 leucine-rich repeats (LRRs), N- and C-terminal cysteine-rich domains, and up to four N-linked KS attachment sites, enabling diverse binding to ECM components, growth factors, and cell surface receptors.
CABT-BL5080 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
CABT-BL5080 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
