Intended Use
Cetuximab ELISA has been especially developed for the quantitative analysis of free cetuximab in serum and plasma samples.
Storage
The kit is shipped at ambient temperature (10-30°C) and should be stored at 2-8°C for long term storage. Keep away from heat or direct sunlight. The strips of microtiter plate are stable up to the expiry date of the kit in the broken, but tightly closed bag when stored at 2-8°C.

Sensitivity
The lowest detectable level (Lowest detection limit, LOD) that can be distinguished from the zero standard is 0,1 µg/mL (100 ng/mL).
General Description
Cetuximab is an epidermal growth factor receptor binding FAB. Cetuximab is composed of the Fv (variable; antigen-binding) regions of the 225 murine EGFr monoclonal antibody specific for the N-terminal portion of human EGFr with human IgG1 heavy and kappa light chain constant (framework) regions. Cetuximab binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFr) on both normal and tumour cells. EGFr is over-expressed in many colorectal cancers. Cetuximab competitively inhibits the binding of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and TGF alpha, thereby reducing their effects on cell growth and metastatic spread.
