General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-01417) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TRA2A, targeting the amino acid region 2–97 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human TRA2A from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TRA2A (Transformer 2 Alpha Homolog) is a protein-coding gene located on the short arm of human chromosome 7 at position 7p15.3, encoding an RNA-binding protein that plays a critical role in regulating alternative pre-mRNA splicing. The encoded protein, known as TRA2A, belongs to the transformer 2 homolog family and features two arginine-serine (RS) domains flanking a central RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain, which enable its sequence-specific binding to RNA and interaction with splicing factors. TRA2A functions primarily in the nucleus, where it participates in spliceosome assembly and modulates exon inclusion or exclusion during mRNA processing, influencing gene expression in diverse cellular contexts such as development, neuronal function, and cancer. Dysregulation of TRA2A has been implicated in several pathologies, including malignant pineal area germ cell neoplasms and various cancers, where it promotes oncogenic splicing events. In model organisms, orthologs like mouse Tra2a demonstrate conserved roles in RNA metabolism, underscoring its evolutionary importance.
DPABH-01417 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:8,000) application.
DPABH-01417 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
