General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-24284) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TNNT3. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human TNNT3 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TNNT3 is a protein-coding gene located on human chromosome 11 that encodes the troponin T type 3 isoform, a key component of the troponin complex in fast skeletal muscle fibers. This protein binds to tropomyosin and facilitates calcium-sensitive regulation of actin-myosin interactions, enabling rapid muscle contraction in response to neural stimuli. Expressed predominantly in type II (fast-twitch) skeletal muscle cells, TNNT3 is essential for the structural integrity and functional dynamics of the thin filaments in the sarcomere, the basic contractile unit of striated muscle. The troponin complex, comprising TNNT3 along with troponin I and troponin C, modulates muscle contraction by undergoing conformational changes upon calcium binding, which exposes myosin-binding sites on actin filaments. Alternative splicing of the TNNT3 transcript produces multiple isoforms that vary during muscle development and adaptation, allowing fine-tuned control of contractile properties in response to physiological demands such as exercise or growth. Dominant missense mutations in TNNT3 are linked to distal arthrogryposis syndromes, while biallelic recessive variants are associated with congenital myopathies, highlighting its critical role in skeletal muscle health and motility. Research also underscores TNNT3's evolutionary conservation across vertebrates, reflecting its fundamental importance in striated muscle function.
DPABH-24284 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:500–1:2,000) applications.
DPABH-24284 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
