General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-27351) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TNNT2, targeting the amino acid region 97–298 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TNNT2 is the gene encoding troponin T type 2, the cardiac isoform of troponin T (cTnT), a regulatory protein exclusively expressed in heart muscle that binds tropomyosin and facilitates calcium-dependent contraction of cardiac sarcomeres as part of the troponin complex. Located on chromosome 1q32.1, TNNT2 produces a 288-amino-acid protein critical for myocardial function, with its disruption leading to impaired force generation in ventricular myocytes. Mutations in TNNT2, often inherited in autosomal dominant patterns, are implicated in familial cardiomyopathies—including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) with high sudden death risk, dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) featuring systolic dysfunction, and restrictive cardiomyopathy—highlighting its role in sarcomeric integrity and disease penetrance variability. These variants underscore TNNT2's significance in clinical genetics, where genetic testing informs risk stratification for arrhythmias and heart failure, though incomplete penetrance complicates prognosis.
DPABH-27351 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-27351 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
