General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-24864) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human RPL15. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with RPL15 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. The 60S ribosomal protein L15 (also known as eL15 or RPL15) is a highly conserved protein that serves as a structural component of the large 60S subunit of the eukaryotic ribosome, playing an essential role in cytoplasmic protein synthesis by facilitating the translation of mRNA into polypeptides. Encoded by the RPL15 gene, it belongs to the L15E family of ribosomal proteins and exhibits sequence similarity to the yeast ribosomal protein YL10, contributing to the assembly and stability of the 60S subunit during ribosome biogenesis. The RPL15 gene is located on human chromosome 3p24.2 and produces two main isoforms: the primary 191-amino-acid isoform containing the conserved Ribosomal_L15e domain, and a shorter 120-amino-acid variant resulting from alternative splicing. RPL15 incorporates into pre-ribosomal particles in the nucleolus, where it aids in pre-rRNA processing—particularly cleavages in internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1)—and the maturation of the 60S subunit, ensuring proper formation of the ribosome's large subunit before export to the cytoplasm. The protein is ubiquitously expressed across human tissues, with highest levels in the ovary and thyroid, and is part of the cytosolic large ribosomal subunit as well as ribonucleoprotein complexes.
DPABH-24864 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500), IHC 1 (50-1:200) applications.
DPABH-24864 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
