General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-16564) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PRKACA, targeting the amino acid region 40–310 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. RKACA is a human gene located on chromosome 19p13.12 that encodes the alpha isoform of the catalytic subunit (Cα) of protein kinase A (PKA), a serine/threonine-specific protein kinase central to cAMP-mediated signal transduction. PKA functions as a tetrameric holoenzyme comprising two regulatory (R) subunits and two catalytic (C) subunits, including PRKACA-derived Cα; upon binding of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), the R subunits dissociate, activating the C subunits to phosphorylate diverse downstream targets involved in processes such as glycogen metabolism, gene transcription, ion channel regulation, and cell growth. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants.
DPABH-16564 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-16564 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
