General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-08988) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PCDH1, targeting the amino acid region 61–381 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PCDH1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Protocadherin 1 (PCDH1), also known as protocadherin-42, is a protein-coding gene located on the long arm of human chromosome 5 at position 5q31.3, encoding a transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the δ1-protocadherin subfamily within the cadherin superfamily of cell adhesion molecules. This protein plays a key role in calcium-dependent homophilic cell-cell adhesion, contributing to the formation and maintenance of adherens junctions in epithelial tissues and synaptic connections in the nervous system. PCDH1 was first identified in 1993 through cloning from neural cDNA libraries in humans, rats, and mice, revealing its expression predominantly in brain tissues and its structural similarity to classical cadherins but with distinct cytoplasmic domains lacking β-catenin binding sites.
DPABH-08988 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:200–1:800) applications.
DPABH-08988 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
