General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-24198) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR1L6. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR1L6 (olfactory receptor family 1 subfamily L member 6) is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the olfactory receptor protein OR1L6, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family responsible for detecting odorant molecules in the nose to initiate the neuronal response underlying smell perception. The gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 9 at cytogenetic band 9q33.2, spanning approximately 8.5 kilobases with two exons. Olfactory receptors such as OR1L6 belong to the largest multigene family in the human genome, comprising over 800 genes that evolved through duplication events and typically feature a single coding exon. The OR1L6 protein exhibits a characteristic seven-transmembrane domain topology, enabling it to recognize specific odorants and transduce signals via G protein activation in olfactory receptor neurons. Expression of OR1L6 is primarily restricted to the olfactory epithelium in the nasal cavity, where it contributes to the diverse repertoire of odor detection. Alternative names for the gene include OR1K1, OR1L7, and HG16, reflecting historical nomenclature variations in olfactory receptor classification.
DPABH-24198 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-24198 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
