General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-09280) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR13F1. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with OR13F1 from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR13F1 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the olfactory receptor 13F1, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family responsible for detecting odorant molecules in the nose to initiate neuronal responses that trigger smell perception. This gene, also known as OR9-6, is located on the forward strand of chromosome 9 at position 9q31.1 (GRCh38.p14 coordinates: 104,504,263-104,505,222). As a single-exon gene, it produces a 319-amino-acid protein with a characteristic 7-transmembrane domain structure shared by many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors, enabling the recognition and G protein-mediated transduction of odorant signals. OR13F1 belongs to the largest gene family in the human genome, comprising over 800 olfactory receptor genes clustered in various chromosomal regions, which collectively underpin the sense of olfaction. Expression of OR13F1 is primarily observed in olfactory epithelium, where it contributes to the diverse repertoire of odor detection, though specific ligands for this receptor remain unidentified.
DPABH-09280 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-09280 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
