General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-02549) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OR10R2. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. OR10R2 is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1q23.1 in humans, encoding the olfactory receptor protein known as olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily R member 2 (OR10R2), a member of the G protein-coupled receptor 1 family with a seven-transmembrane domain structure that detects odorant molecules in the nasal cavity to initiate neuronal signaling for smell perception. The gene spans approximately 8,717 base pairs on the forward strand (GRCh38 coordinates: 158,472,220-158,480,936) and produces two main transcripts, with the canonical protein consisting of 335 amino acids and a molecular mass of 37,486 Da. OR10R2 exhibits high sequence conservation across mammals, sharing 99% similarity with its chimpanzee ortholog, and is part of a larger superfamily of over 800 olfactory receptor genes, enabling the detection of diverse chemical stimuli through G protein-coupled signaling pathways. Expression of OR10R2 is primarily in olfactory epithelium but has been detected at lower levels in tissues such as the esophagus and kidney, with the protein featuring post-translational modifications like N-linked glycosylation at asparagine 25. The gene shows high intolerance to variation, with a residual variation intolerance score of 95.1% and a gene damage index of 21.91, indicating potential evolutionary constraints.
DPABH-02549 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:1000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-02549 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
