General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-26156) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MDH1, targeting the amino acid region 2–334 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human MDH1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. MDH1 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the cytosolic isoform of malate dehydrogenase 1 (MDH1), an enzyme essential for cellular metabolism. This enzyme catalyzes the reversible, NAD/NADH-dependent oxidation of malate to oxaloacetate, a critical step in multiple biochemical pathways including the citric acid cycle (TCA cycle), gluconeogenesis, and the malate-aspartate shuttle, which facilitates the transfer of reducing equivalents across the mitochondrial membrane. MDH1 also exhibits secondary activity as an aromatic alpha-keto acid reductase, reducing substrates like phenylpyruvate to phenyllactate. Located on chromosome 2p15, the gene spans approximately 18 kb with 10 exons and produces multiple isoforms through alternative splicing, including a peroxisomal variant.
DPABH-26156 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-26156 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
