This product (Catalog No. DPABH-04347) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human LGALS2, targeting the amino acid region 1–132 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Galectin-2 is a prototype galectin, belonging to a family of 15 mammalian β-galactoside-binding proteins that recognize and bind to carbohydrate structures on cell surfaces and extracellular matrix components. First identified in 1992, it is encoded by the LGALS2 gene located on human chromosome 22, and is a small 14 kDa protein consisting of a single carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) with a β-sandwich structure, typically functioning as a non-covalent homodimer to crosslink ligands. It binds complex glycans such as N-acetyl-lactosamine (LacNAc) with high affinity. Lacking a classical secretion signal, galectin-2 is synthesized in the cytosol and secreted via non-classical pathways, allowing it to exert both intracellular and extracellular effects.
DPABH-04347 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-04347 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
