Product Background
Antigen Description
KCNK10 belongs to the two pore domain potassium channel family and is an outward rectifying potassium channel. This channel produces rapidly activating and non-inactivating outward rectifier K(+) currents. It is activated by arachidonic acid and other naturally occurring unsaturated free fatty acids. It is also activated by membrane stretching, intracellular acidification, and general anaesthetics. KCNK10 exists in three named isoforms produced by alternative splicing. Isoform a is abundantly expressed in pancreas and kidney and to a lower level in brain, testis, colon, and small intestine. Isoform b is strongly expressed in kidney, and pancreas. Isoform c is abundantly expressed in brain.
