CEACAM7 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 7) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CEACAM7 include colorectal cancer and gastric adenocarcinoma. An important paralog of this gene is CEACAM8. This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein and member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family of proteins. Expression of this gene may be downregulated in colon and rectal cancer. Additionally, lower expression levels of this gene may be predictive of rectal cancer recurrence. This gene is present in a CEA family gene cluster on chromosome 19. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
This gene encodes a receptor for the OX-2 membrane glycoprotein. Both the receptor and substrate are cell surface glycoproteins containing two immunoglobulin-like domains. This receptor is restricted to the surfaces of myeloid lineage cells and the recepProtein Symbol:Q14002-CEAM7_HUMANRecommended name:Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 7Protein Accession:Q14002Secondary Accessions:A8K848O15148O15149Q0VAC1Q13983Q9UPJ2Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CEACAM7 gene.
