This product (Catalog No. DPABH-02369) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human HTR2A, targeting the amino acid region 65–160 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with HTR2A from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This gene encodes one of the receptors for serotonin, a neurotransmitter with many roles. Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and are also associated with response to the antidepressant citalopram in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). MDD patients who also have a mutation in intron 2 of this gene show a significantly reduced response to citalopram as this antidepressant downregulates expression of this gene. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. DPABH-02369 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application. DPABH-02369 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
