Product Background

Gene summary
DLC1 (DLC1 Rho GTPase Activating Protein) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with DLC1 include colorectal cancer and esophageal cancer. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and Signaling by Rho GTPases. GO annotations related to this gene include GTPase activator activity and SH2 domain binding. An important paralog of this gene is ARHGAP11A. This gene encodes a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) that is a member of the rhoGAP family of proteins which play a role in the regulation of small GTP-binding proteins. GAP family proteins participate in signaling pathways that regulate cell processes involved in cytoskeletal changes. This gene functions as a tumor suppressor gene in a number of common cancers, including prostate, lung, colorectal, and breast cancers. Multiple transcript variants due to alternative promoters and alternative splicing have been found for this gene.
Antigen Description
This gene is deleted in the primary tumor of hepatocellular carcinoma. It maps to 8p22-p21. 3, a region frequently deleted in solid tumors. It is suggested that this gene is a candidate tumor suppressor gene for human liver cancer, as well as for prostate, lung, colorectal, and breast cancers. Alternative splicing at this locus results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Functions as a GTPase-activating protein for the small GTPases RHOA, RHOB, RHOC and CDC42, terminating their downstream signaling. This induces morphological changes and detachment through cytoskeletal reorganization, playing a critical role in biological processes such as cell migration and proliferation. Also functions in vivo as an activator of the phospholipase PLCD1. Active DLC1 increases cell migration velocity but reduces directionality. Deleted in Liver Cancer 1 also known as DLC1 and StAR-related lipid transfer protein 12 (STARD12) is a protein which in humans is encoded by the DLC1 gene. 0The function about DLC1 antigen include GTPase activator activity; NOT Rac GTPase activator activity; Rho GTPase activator activity; Rho GTPase activator activity; SH2 domain binding; phospholipase binding; protein binding; vinculin binding.
