CGB7 (Chorionic Gonadotropin Beta Subunit 7) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CGB7 include choriocarcinoma and nonseminomatous germ cell tumor. Glycoprotein hormones are heterodimers consisting of a common alpha subunit and an unique beta subunit which confers biological specificity. CG is produced by the trophoblastic cells of the placenta and stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy. The beta subunit of CG is encoded by 6 genes which are arranged in tandem and inverted pairs on chromosome 19q13. 3 and contiguous with the luteinizing hormone beta subunit gene.
Antigen Description
The 14-3-3 epsilon protein (14-3-3E) is one of seven isoforms in the 14-3-3 protein family; a family which consists of acidic 30 kDa proteins expressed at high levels in neurons of the central nervous system. It is an adapter protein implicated in the regulation of a large spectrum of both general and specialized signaling pathways. 14-3-3E binds to a large number of partners, usually by recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif. It also interacts with both, the insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGFIR) and the insulin receptor substrate I (IRS-1), suggesting its role in the regulation of insulin sensitivity. 14-3-3E has also been implicated in the pathogenesis of small cell lung cancer. Stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy. Choriogonadotropin subunit beta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CGB7 gene.
