General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-13486) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CES1, targeting the amino acid region 18–299 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) is a serine hydrolase enzyme encoded by the CES1 gene on chromosome 16q12.2, predominantly expressed in the human liver and adipose tissue, where it catalyzes the hydrolysis of ester- and amide-containing compounds, including numerous xenobiotic prodrugs and endogenous lipids such as cholesteryl esters and triacylglycerols. As the most abundant drug-metabolizing hydrolase in the liver, comprising approximately 1% of the total liver proteome and accounting for 80–95% of hepatic hydrolytic activity, CES1 plays a pivotal role in phase I metabolism, activating prodrugs such as oseltamivir and enalapril while inactivating others such as clopidogrel and methylphenidate; it also contributes to the metabolism of irinotecan.
DPABH-13486 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-13486 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
